What if learning about mental health could leave you inspired, confident, and ready to ignite change? How We Human is a two-part virtual training that lets you and your team tap into the potent intersection of trauma-informed practice, mental wellness, and creativity. How We Human is my unique approach to mental health trainings: moving beyond typical trauma-informed discourse to offer a path defined by creativity, compassion, and inspired change.
WHY THIS TRAINING?
It’s not your typical presentation of statistics and new terms.
This unique training gives your team a fresh perspective on mental health, and inspires them to engage their own unique ideas and skills to advance wellbeing.
The journey begins by challenging common ideas about who benefits from trauma-informed practices. It then reimagines wellbeing and self-care, and draws connections between mental health, creativity, and resilience.
Your team will learn principles of trauma-informed practice, gain unique insights into how creativity and the arts support mental health, and integrate learnings into their unique work.
They’ll also snag custom workbooks to help them reflect, process, and take action.
Far from laying out rules and constraints, this training is designed to ignite ideas—
— leaving attendees inspired, more confident, and more compassionate as leaders, creators, and collaborators.

Meet Your Trainer
My name is Dr. Tasha Golden. As both an adept artist and a seasoned health scientist, I initially developed this training specifically for creative professionals.
As a career singer/songwriter, I know that creatives need and deserve more support for the deeply human work we do in our communities.
As founder of a trauma-informed program for incarcerated girls, I know training is key to cultivating safety, trust, and change.
As a health scientist and a consultant for orgs around the world, I know that training improves health, opportunities, and creativity.
And. As a musician whose touring career was ended by major depression, I know what it’s like to have a dream and make a difference… only to wind up depleted. If I’d only known then what I know now…
This is the training I wish I’d had all along, and I’ve been honored to bring thousands of people through it — from all kinds of backgrounds and careers.
How We Human isn’t about handing out rules or procedures; it’s about giving you a new lens through which to see your world and your work.
This re-seeing is what ignites new ideas. Attendees go on to create new programs, services, and supports… In general, they learn to bolster mental health in ways only THEY can!
Don’t miss this opportunity to elevate your expertise and deepen your journey in professional and personal growth.

Special Note :for Artists & Arts Orgs
How do the arts support mental health?
Artists regularly engage with people who are facing great challenges, and many of our audiences and participants look to art as a way to cope. People also tend to open up about their lives when they’re in arts-based spaces. These facts put artists in a position to help support mental health needs.
But. Sometimes artists are uncertain how to respond safely and ethically to the situations or stories we encounter. We might also wonder how to stay healthy ourselves!
So how do we care for ourselves, and continue creating safe, effective spaces for connection and creativity?
This training answers that question.
It helps artists become trauma-responsive and build practices that support mental health.
Artists need not become licensed therapists, and we don’t diagnose or treat illness. But we can learn to “do no harm,” to offer a compassionate and informed lens, and to apply our creativity to support well-being.
This supports our mental health, too—so we can sustain our work, vision, and well-being.
