Golden’s work is informed by her history as a career artist and entrepreneur. She is a published poet (Humanist Press), founder of Project Uncaged: a trauma-informed creative writing program for incarcerated girls, and developer of “How We Human”: a training in Mental Health and Trauma-Informed Practice designed specially for creative professions.

Golden’s unique background drives her success as a speaker, consultant, and thought leader. Her talks and workshops help creative leaders and organizations around the world turn what-ifs into actionable strategies that grow their impact.

Tasha Golden, PhD is a singer/songwriter turned public health scientist, and an internationally-recognized leader in the science of “Creativity x Wellbeing.” From SXSW to the US Conference of Mayors, from POLITICO to state arts councils, from industry summits to universities, Golden’s storytelling and game-changing insights motivate and inspire audiences.

At the International Arts + Mind Lab at Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Golden leads research into the profound influence of creativity on health and well-being. And as an international consultant, Golden has guided hundreds of organizations to discover new links with wellbeing and grow their impact. Holding a PhD in Public Health, she bridges science and art to help audiences reimagine their work, purpose, and potential.

But this is not where Golden thought her life would lead. Formerly the singer-songwriter for the critically acclaimed band Ellery, her music graced stages across the globe and found homes in films and TV. But severe burnout and major depression drove Golden from her music career. Forced to reimagine her life and career, she began raising provocative questions that led to her PhD, and to studies of creativity, health, and how we build a better world.

Dr. Golden is the founder of Project Uncaged—a trauma-informed creative writing program for incarcerated girls, and the lead author of "Arts on Prescription: A Field Guide for US Communities." She is also the creator of the pioneering "How We Human”: a professional-development training in mental health and trauma-informed practice, designed specifically for people in creative professions.

With extensive publications in peer-reviewed journals, Golden combines scientific knowledge with professional experience, personal storytelling, and a dynamic presence honed over years of performing. Her pathbreaking work and message leave audiences inspired, enlightened, and ready to make change,
